Who We Help

More than 40 million Americans suffer from osteoarthritis, a form of degenerative joint disease, which is the leading cause of joint pain. There are less invasive treatment options for osteoarthritis and joint pain than joint replacement, and you should discuss these with your primary care physician, or with your joint replacement specialist. However, if these treatments have not been effective, or are not an option, joint replacement at CDH may be the best way for you to resume an active life.

Is Joint Replacement Right for You?

If you have persistent joint pain and fit any of the following descriptions, you may be a good candidate for joint replacement.

  • Joint pain limits your everyday activities such as walking, bending and getting in and out of vehicles.
  • You are no longer able to manage joint pain with typical over-the-counter medications, such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), or Tylenol.
  • Activities you used to take part in such as golf, bicycling and exercising have become too painful to continue.
  • Less invasive treatments, such as cortisone injections and physical therapy, do not relieve your pain.

To find out if you are a candidate for joint replacement, read our Frequently Asked Questions, our Educational Materials, or join us for a free Joint Replacement Education Seminar.
