CDH Nurses Achieve Advanced Certification

WINFIELD, July 29, 2009 - Jennifer Krall, RN, CSMRN, of Montgomery and Daphne Werner, RN, CMSRN, of Oswego recently earned Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) status by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN). Both Krall and Werner are employed by Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) as surgical nurses.

The AMSN supports certification to establish a commitment to provide safe, current and holistic care and to encourage nurses to dedicate themselves to identifying ongoing opportunities for learning and skill development that will meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.

Krall received her bachelor's degree in biology from Benedictine University, an associate's degree in nursing from William Rainey Harper College and is currently working on a BSN at Aurora University. She volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and the American Heart Association's Heart Walk.

Werner received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Illinois University and an associate's degree in nursing from the College of DuPage.

She and her husband Paul, have two children, Ashley and Joshua.
