The AAHFN Annual Meeting is planned to meet the needs of nurses and a broad range of health care professionals like cardiac/heart failure administrators, clinical directors, physician assistants, and dieticians. A variety of educational offerings are planned that will encourage the exchange of new scientific and clinical information and support the interchange of opinions regarding care and management issues relevant to heart failure.

An active volunteer with Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy, she is currently involved in the "Reading with Rover" library program that provides children in grades 2-5 with the opportunity to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a specially trained therapy dog. Hinojosa, and her husband, Daniel, reside in Carol Stream.
The AAHFN is a specialty organization dedicated to advancing nursing education, clinical practice and research to improve heart failure patient outcomes. Heart failure is the organization's exclusive interest and passion, with a primary goal of setting heart failure nursing care standards.
AAHFN unites the full spectrum of nurses and other health professionals interested in heart failure, serving as the interface for sharing ideas, translating research findings into practice and setting priorities for the future.
