CDH Golf Invitational Raises Record Funds for Cancer Center
WINFIELD, Ill., August 27, 2010 – More than 250 golfers, joined by PGA Professionals Curt Byrum, Todd Dempsey and Chris Smith, tested their skills at the well-known Medinah Country Club to raise record funds for the CDH Foundation. In total, more than $380,000 was netted from the day’s event and activities.
“We were extremely pleased to have 75 event sponsors this year,” said event organizer Holly Kulikowski of the CDH Foundation. “People were drawn to support the new CDH Cancer Center in Warrenville. Cancer touches everyone, and this was one way to make a small difference.”
The post-golf dinner program featured celebrity emcee, Dan McNeil, from the Danny Mac Show on AM670 “The Score” and included a raffle, silent and live auction including a signature offering: a golf trip for three to Sand Hills Golf Club, in Mullen, Nebraska, via private jet.
Additional funds were raised to support nursing scholarships in memory of beloved late board chair Judy Whinfrey. Judy’s husband, Pete Whinfrey, gave a moving speech about Judy, her dedication to CDH and her passion for the nursing profession.
