Chris Hensley is the President of the Cadence Health Foundation, where he is responsible for the vision, planning, implementation and management of philanthropic activities and fundraising programs for Cadence Health. Mr. Hensley has been serving the organization since 2012, and his career includes extensive leadership and management experience in non-profit, government and healthcare environments.
Prior to joining Cadence, Mr. Hensley was regional vice president of the American Cancer Society, where he served as a member of the Illinois division leadership team, with responsibility for developing strategies and executing the organization’s mission. During his tenure, Mr. Hensley led teams and key initiatives that raised more than $50 million. In addition to his healthcare experience, Mr. Hensley served as chief of staff to Illinois Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood.
In addition to his professional position, Mr. Hensley currently serves on the advisory council of Golf to End Cancer and as a guest lecturer on legislative advocacy at the College of DuPage. He previously served on the Valley View School District Board of Education. In 1999, Mr. Hensley was recognized by the Chicago Sun-Times as one of Chicago’s 30 Under 30 in Public Service.
Mr. Hensley earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from Lake Forest College, Illinois, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy and administration at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
